June loves solving mysteries around town. She’s saving the money from her detective work. She wants to make her thirteenth birthday party the best ever! Then she gets a message from her cousin Alfie, who lives in Scotland. Anyone who finds the Loch Ness Monster will get reward money–a lot of it!
June and Alfie are on the case! But soon, the clues lead to dead ends. And June worries finding the mysterious monster could be dangerous. Will June and Alfie give up? And if they keep looking, what will they find?

Eleven-year-old Sam likes putting puzzles together, eating sweets, and spending time with his abuela. When Sam’s parents ask him to go on a hiking trip in Washington, he wants to stay with Abuela instead.But then he sees a Bigfoot magazine on the bus.
The more he learns about the mysterious cryptid, the more fascinated he becomes. He decides to go on the hiking trip after all. He has one goal–to find Bigfoot. Will he track down the big, hairy creature? Or will he find something else?
Even though each book is about a different cryptid and includes different leading characters, both stories were so much fun to write.
What is a CRYTPID? A cryptid is a creature of legend. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, “a cryptid is an animal (such as Sasquatch or the Loch Ness Monster) that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist.“
It was my first time writing a book featuring characters looking for a cryptid, so I had to do some research. It was pretty cool to learn about Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster.
